“Together, We Have Strengthened Ghana Taekwondo; Together We Can Achieve Even Greater Success” – Frederick Otu Lartey Unveils Key Vision Ahead of GTF Elections

Incumbent President of the Ghana Taekwondo Federation (GTF), Frederick Otu Lartey, has outlined another key area of focus as he seeks a fresh mandate to continue leading the federation at the upcoming elective congress.

With the Ghana Taekwondo Federation Elective Congress scheduled for July 18, 2026, Otu Lartey has reaffirmed his commitment to building on the progress achieved during his current administration while promising greater opportunities for athletes, coaches, referees and clubs across the country.

Speaking ahead of the elections, the incumbent emphasized that the federation has made significant strides through teamwork, transparency and strategic planning.

“Together, we have strengthened Ghana Taekwondo. Together, we can achieve even greater success,” he stated.

As part of his vision for another term, Otu Lartey highlighted the importance of expanding grassroots development, strengthening regional structures, improving technical education, increasing international participation, and creating more opportunities for young athletes to excel on the continental and global stage.

He also pledged to deepen partnerships with government, corporate institutions and international bodies to secure more resources for the growth of taekwondo in Ghana while ensuring good governance and accountability within the federation.

The GTF Elective Congress will bring together delegates from across the country to elect a new executive to steer the affairs of Ghana Taekwondo over the next four years.

Frederick Otu Lartey, who is seeking re-election, believes the federation is on the right path and has urged stakeholders to maintain the unity that has driven the sport’s recent progress.

We have laid a solid foundation together, but there is still more work to do. With your continued trust and support, we can take Ghana Taekwondo to even greater heights,” he added.

The July 18 congress is expected to shape the future direction of Ghana Taekwondo as delegates choose the leadership that will oversee the federation’s next phase of development.
