The Ghana Taekwondo Federation (GTF) will hold its Elective Congress on July 18, 2026, with incumbent president Frederick Otu Lartey seeking another term in office.
The congress is expected to bring together delegates from across the country to elect new leadership that will steer the affairs of taekwondo in Ghana for the next term.
To ensure a credible and transparent electoral process, the Ghana Olympic Committee has constituted an independent Vetting and Election Committee to supervise the congress. The committee will oversee all aspects of the electoral process, ensuring neutrality, transparency, and strict adherence to the federation’s constitution.
Mr. Frederick Otu Lartey, who currently serves as President of the Ghana Taekwondo Federation, has officially declared his intention to contest for re-election. His bid comes after a term during which the federation has continued its efforts to develop the sport at both grassroots and elite levels.
The July 18 congress is expected to be a significant moment for Ghana Taekwondo as stakeholders decide on the leadership that will guide the federation’s future direction and development agenda.
With preparations underway, attention now turns to the vetting process and the campaign period ahead of what promises to be a keenly watched election within Ghana’s sporting community.
