Game on Afrika Ltd Launches Grassroots Football Project in Ghana

Game on Afrika Ltd., led by its CEO Mr. Prince Nwaemeka, is bringing an exciting new football initiative to Ghana.

The “Grassroot Football Project”, which officially kicks off in October, aims to identify and develop football talents under the age of 19 while fostering stronger cultural ties within Africa and between Africa and Europe.

The project will stage regional selections in Greater Accra, Oti, Central, and Ashanti regions, with a parallel competition running in Nigeria. Winners from both countries will later compete in a play-off, where the top players will be selected for a two-week trip to the United Kingdom.

During the trip, the youngsters will tour iconic stadia, experience British culture and most importantly have the opportunity to be scouted by European clubs, including those in the English Premier League. The initiative is being organized in partnership with a football club in Belford, U.K.

At a courtesy call to the National Sports Authority (NSA), Director General Mr. Yaw Ampofo Ankrah applauded the project as a timely platform to unearth and nurture the next generation of African footballers. He assured Game on Afrika Ltd. of the NSA’s full backing, noting that the Authority’s regional offices across Ghana are ready to support the scouting process.

The “Grassroot Football” Project is expected to create life changing opportunities for young players while strengthening sports diplomacy between Africa and Europe.
