Sports betting company betPawa has announced an investment of over GH¢3.5 million into Ghana football to support the Black Stars’ 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification campaign and the Black Queens ahead of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

The announcement was made by betPawa’s Head of Local Marketing and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Borah Omary Ndanyungu, during a partnership event held at the Premier Best Western Hotel in Accra on Friday, May 29, 2026.

“Football is more than just a game in Ghana, it is one of our greatest unifiers. When the Black Stars or Black Queens step onto the pitch, they carry the hopes and dreams of millions of Ghanaians,” Borah said.

She revealed that betPawa is injecting over $300,000, equivalent to more than GH¢3.5 million, to strengthen preparations for both national teams.

Borah also highlighted the success of the company’s Locker Room Bonus Initiative, which rewards players and technical staff with instant cash bonuses after victories in the Ghana Premier League and the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League.

“These are not delayed payments  they are instant bonuses paid before players even leave the stadium,” she stated.

According to her, betPawa’s partnership with the Ghana Football Association, which began in 2022, has already seen the company invest over GH¢4 million into Ghana football through sponsorship and player welfare initiatives.

“We are not here for one competition, we are committed to the long-term growth and success of Ghana football,” he added.

Reacting to the support, GFA Vice President Mark Addo praised betPawa for its continued commitment to the development of Ghana football.

“To our friends at betPawa, thank you for your continued trust in Ghana football. Thank you for investing in our players and supporting our national teams,” he said.

He added that the support would play a key role in helping the Black Stars and Black Queens excel in their upcoming international assignments.
