UNESCO Representative to Ghana Pays A Courtesy calls on the Hon. Ken Kenneth Gilbert Adje

On March 12, 2025, a delegation from the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) led by the Country Representatives H.E. Moukala paid a courtesy call on the Minister for Work, Housing and Water Resources, Hon. Ken Kenneth Gilbert Adje at the Ministry
The meeting’s main goal was is to discuss various projects within the works and water sub-sectors.

H.E Moukala informed that the  UNESCO’s Flood Early Warning Systems (FEWS) project being undertaken in high risk areas within the city to reduce the impact of flooding on lives, livelihoods and infrastructure.

The project, which is set to commence next month (April) will see the sector collaborate with development partners to take another significant step towards perennial flood risk management in vulnerable areas
The Minister in his response expressed appreciation to UNESCO for the support to Ghana.

He called for capacity building for technical people from institutions within the sector to ensure the project is sustainable with the requisite expertise.
The meeting ended with both sides reaffirming their commitment to strengthening relations
