ITTF Africa Youth Championships 2026: Individual Events Take Centre Stage as Team Medalists Are Honoured
The excitement continued at the 2026 ITTF Africa Youth Championships on Wednesday as attention shifted to the individual competitions at the Borteyman Sports Complex in Accra, with players battling for glory in the U-15 and U-19 Boys’ and Girls’ Doubles and Mixed Doubles events.
Following several days of thrilling team contests, Africa’s brightest young table tennis talents returned to the tables determined to add individual honours to their achievements, producing another day of high-quality competition and intense rallies.
Before the start of the day’s action, the spotlight was on the successful teams that excelled in the team events, with medals presented to the outstanding nations.

In the U-15 Boys’ Team competition, Egypt claimed the gold medal after an impressive campaign, while Nigeria settled for silver. Algeria and hosts Ghana shared the bronze medals, with the Ghanaian youngsters earning praise for a spirited performance in front of their home supporters.
The U-15 Girls’ Team title also went to Egypt, with Tunisia taking silver, while Algeria and Nigeria finished with bronze medals.
In the U-19 Boys’ Team event, Nigeria emerged as champions, defeating Egypt in the final. Tunisia and Algeria completed the podium with bronze medals.

The U-19 Girls’ Team competition saw Egypt continue their dominance by securing another gold medal. Algeria claimed silver, while Nigeria and Tunisia shared the bronze medals.
With the team honours now decided, the focus has firmly shifted to the doubles and mixed doubles competitions, where players are aiming to showcase their individual brilliance and finish the championships on a high.

The 2026 ITTF Africa Youth Championships has once again highlighted the continent’s growing table tennis talent, with emerging stars demonstrating exceptional skill, determination, and sportsmanship throughout the tournament.
