Gladson Awako bids emotional farewell to Great Olympics as midfielder joins Hearts of Oak

Gladson Awako has penned an emotional farewell message to Great Olympics after sealing a move to Hearts of Oak.

The 2009 U-20 World Cup winner signed a 2-year deal with Hearts of Oak for a fee reported to be around $15,000.

In a Twitter post, Awako thanked everyone at Great Olympics for supporting him during his stay with the club.

Awako joined Great Olympics on a 2-year deal in November 2019. The mercurial midfielder was exceptional throughout his time with the club.

In the 2020/21 Premier League season, Awako scored 7 times and provided 6 assists in 30 games. He as well won 4 man of the match awards and the player of the month award twice.

Awako’s impressive performances earned him a call-up to the Black Stars, making his debut against Sao Tome and Principe in the 2021 African Cup of Nations qualifiers.
