Ghana Rugby Calls for Support, Commends Herbert Mensah and Key Stakeholders

The President of the Ghana Rugby Football Union (GRFU), Rafatu Inusah, has expressed profound gratitude to her predecessor and key stakeholders while making a strong appeal for increased corporate support.

Speaking after the Union’s successful AGM, held at the Labadi Beach Hotel, she paid special tribute to Herbert Mensah, current President of Rugby Africa, for his continuous guidance and unwavering support.

“I would like to use this opportunity to thank my predecessor, Mr. Herbert Mensah, for constantly supporting and guiding us. Without his support, we would not be where we are today.”

The Union also extended appreciation to the Ghana Olympic Committee for its ongoing backing and commitment to the development of rugby in Ghana.

Call for Corporate Support

Ghana Rugby has called on corporate organizations to partner in the sport’s growth, highlighting its commitment to strong governance, transparency, and performance both on and off the field.

“We are calling on all corporate bodies to come and support Ghana Rugby. As you can see, we are maintaining high standards in governance, transparency, and performance.”

Focus on International Competitions

Attention is now turning to upcoming international assignments, with Ghana’s men’s and women’s teams preparing for major sevens tournaments in Mauritius and Kenya.

The Union emphasized that increased support will be crucial in ensuring the teams are well-prepared to compete and represent the nation with pride.

“We are preparing for the Women’s Sevens competitions in Mauritius and Kenya. We urge all stakeholders to support us so our teams can continue to raise the flag of Ghana high on the international stage.”
