GFA introduces ‘Locker room bonus’ concept for GPL clubs after securing deal with betPawa

The Ghana Football Association have introduce da new concept called the ‘Locker room bonus’ for Ghana Premier League clubs.

This was made known by the President of the Ghana Football Association Kurt Okraku at the unveiling of a new Ghana Premier League sponsor, which is betPawa.

At the event held at the headquarters of the GFA on August 3, 2022, Mr Okraku said this new concept is one that will help our local players earn some cash immediately a game ends.

The concept is designed in such a way that, any team that wins a game in the betPawa Premier League will have all 30 registered players receive a winning bonus that will come from the FA and not their club.

This new concept could spark more competition among players and that will help develop the league further.

betpawa will invest a whopping $6 million in the Ghana Premier League for the three-year period.

The 2022/23 domestic top-flight campaign is scheduled to be launched on September 2 with the league kicking off on the weekend of September 9-12, 2022.
