The Ghana Football Association has taken another significant step toward strengthening grassroots football development with the donation of a brand-new Nissan Navara pick-up to the Northern Regional Football Association (NRFA) under the FIFA Forward Programme.
The vehicle was officially handed over to the Chairman of the NRFA, Alhaji Abu-Hassan Rhyzo, in a brief but symbolic ceremony aimed at enhancing the operational capacity of football administration in the region.
This initiative forms part of the GFA’s broader commitment to improving infrastructure and logistical support for regional football bodies across the country.
The FIFA Forward Programme, which continues to play a pivotal role in funding football development projects worldwide, has enabled the association to provide critical resources that directly impact the growth of the game at the grassroots level.

Receiving the vehicle, Alhaji Rhyzo expressed appreciation to the GFA for the timely support, noting that the pick-up will significantly improve mobility for officials, facilitate match supervision, and enhance administrative efficiency across the Northern Region.
The donation underscores the GFA’s vision of decentralizing football development and ensuring that all regions are adequately equipped to nurture talent and organize competitions effectively. With improved transportation, the NRFA is expected to strengthen its outreach, monitoring, and development programmes, ultimately contributing to the overall progress of Ghana football.
The gesture also reflects the GFA’s continued collaboration with FIFA in leveraging international support to build a stronger and more inclusive football ecosystem across the country.
