The thrilling final was held at the DG Hathiramani Sports Hall at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday, February 14, where Kwabi sealed a 4–1 victory (12-10, 11-6, 10-12, 11-9, 11-9) losing the third set.

“My Target Is Always to Win” – Kwabi
Speaking after lifting the trophy, Kwabi explained the tactical approach that helped her rise above her competitors.
“I had a different game style for Augustina Baidoo which I managed to the third position last week. So I taught myself this week I have to grab the ultimate best, because my target is always is to win. So I really thought of it and went tactical step by step to win the final.”

When asked what worked in the final, she added:
“I wasn’t tense, there was no pressure on me, because I have read each and everyone’s performance and I have seen that, is only Augustina Baidoo who can give me tough time and she will not be able to win me for the second time, is a must, because I have really trained for it. So looking at her style of play, I really saw that, I can beat her.”
Determined to stay on top, Kwabi emphasised that her ambition does not end here.
“To become a champion, everyone has a target, most people target is to be a champion, I won’t rest, I will continue training to maintain my shape and performance so that I can be able to grab the next tournament as well.”
Joanita Eyes Olympic and World Glory
Runner-up Joanita Borteye remains focused on bigger dreams despite falling short in the final.

“I want to achieve an Olympic medal and also I want to achieve world championship medal too, that is my dream and also qualify for the Olympic Games.”
Reflecting on her progress after last week’s setback, she said:
“Last week, Eva Adom-Amankwaa beat me 4-1 and when home, I said, I am not giving up but I will keep on training hard, so I was training hard and today, I placed 2nd position and I am very happy for myself.”
“Yes, I have seen some improvements. Next week tournament, I am going to train very hard and win the ultimate.”
“I’m going to show the world that, there’s Ghana and Africa, we know how to play Table Tennis. At the World Table Tennis Championships, we’re going going to train very hard to achieve something.”
Defending Champion Reflects
Augustina Baidoo admitted the tournament did not go her way this time.
“I will say, it was a hard luck for me, because looking at the performance last week and today, it was hard luck for me.”
She acknowledged the pressure of being the player to beat.
“I was never overconfidence, because I knew every body will plan for me, everybody will trained towards me. They were all ready for me. Honestly, I was just waiting to pull myself apart, it couldn’t just happen.”
Looking ahead, she remains optimistic.
“We’re hoping for the best in the 3rd edition and I am going to win the third one. We’re preparing towards the Table Tennis World championship as well. I am training so hard towards it.”
