Ghanaian boxing icon and International Boxing Hall of Fame, Azumah Nelson paid a heartfelt tribute to renowned businessman, football administrator, and sports entrepreneur during his 50th birthday celebration.
The special recognition from one of Africa’s greatest sporting icons marked a significant milestone in the life of Samuel Anim Addo, whose contributions to Ghanaian sports have spanned football, boxing, athlete management, and business development.
Anim Addo has established himself as one of Ghana’s respected sports administrators. He previously served as an Executive Council Member of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), where he contributed to the development and governance of Ghanaian football. Widely regarded as one of the greatest boxers ever produced by Africa, Nelson enjoyed an illustrious career, winning the WBC featherweight world title in 1984 and defending it until 1987. He later captured the WBC super-featherweight title twice between 1988 and 1997 before being inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 2004.
