ASFA beat Lions de Bobo to clinch the 2025 Tournoi International de Rugby des Equipes championnes (TIREC)
Accra Accra, Dec 23 –The Sports Association of the Armed Forces of Senegal (ASFA) are crowned champions of the 8th edition of Tournoi International de Rugby des Equipes championnes (TIREC),after crushing de Lions of Bobo (Burkina Faso) in the final with a score of 19 0.
The 8th TIREC tournament was held at the University of Ghana Rugby Stadium on December 20-21.
ASFA RC dominated the competition confirming their supremacy in the regional Rugby. This victory marks their scond consecutive win , following their trumph in Dakar last year.

The ASFA team’s performance demonstrated their strength in the sport, with their Rugby sevens team providing unbeaten in the tournament.
Ghana’s Conquerors RC secured bronze, thrashing TRUC RC of Cote D’Ivoire 29-5.
Rugby Africa President Herbert Mensah attended the event, commending the Ghana Rugby Football Union (GRFU) for their efforts.

The tournament brought together six West African rugby powerhouses: ASFA RC (Senegal), Lions de Bobo (Burkina Faso), Conquerors RC (Ghana), TRUC RC (Cote D’Ivoire), Elite RC (Togo), and Alligator RC (Benin).

After the well organized competitions the winners and all clubs, match officials, media, LOC and medics were honoured with medals and certificates.

Present at the tournament was Mr. Herbert Mensah, President of the African Rugby Union and Ms Rafatu Inusah, President of Ghana Rugby Football Union.
