The Miners finished the first round of the league on 10th position with 22 points.

“My first target for now is to lift the team from its current position, I don’t have all the elements to judge the performance of the team in the first round but looking at the table, I think it’s good” he told Kumasi FM.

“We will be able to assess the team very well after the season and see what target to set but it will be too ambitious to determine the target for my next season since I don’t know what the future holds”. he added.

The Mexican trainer also revealed why he has decided to join Ashantigold for the next 2 years.

He said ” I choose them because I know I can trust the people who are working there, I know they’re very serious, I know if they say something, they’ll deliver. So, far I will say, all the elements I used to judge them were right.”

“You know Prof Darling, former CEO of Bechem United has joined them, he’s a very good friend of mine. When he approached me with the project of the club, it was exactly what I was looking for, so it was an easy decision for me to make”, he concluded.

Romain Folz starts his Ashantigold tenure with a difficult trip to the Cross Awuah Memorial Park at Anyinase to face League Leaders, Karela United in Matchday 18 of Ghana’s Elite League
