Safety and player welfare took centre stage on Day 1 of the Ghana Rugby Training & Education Programme 2026, as participants underwent the World Rugby-certified First Aid in Rugby and Intensive Care in Rugby (ICIR) courses.
The training focused on equipping coaches, officials, and rugby stakeholders with vital skills to respond swiftly to injuries and handle serious medical emergencies on and off the field. From basic first aid techniques to critical care responses, participants gained practical knowledge essential for maintaining safe rugby environments.

Supported by Rugby Africa and World Rugby, the initiative highlights Ghana Rugby’s commitment to prioritizing player safety and raising the standard of care within the sport.
Because in rugby, every player deserves to be in safe hands.
