The Northern Region Rugby Association and Savanna Region Rugby Association came together on October 4, 2025, to host a thrilling rugby friendly at the Salaga Town Park, marking another step toward strengthening regional ties and promoting the sport’s development in Northern Ghana.

In the men’s category, Northern Lions RFC stamped their authority in impressive fashion.
They opened with a commanding 27–0 victory over Jakpa RFC before seeing off Salaga Rugby by 17–0.

Northern Lions Ladies Triumph in Entertaining Encounter

The women’s fixture also delivered excitement and intensity, as Salaga Rugby Ladies battled Northern Lions Ladies in a spirited contest.
The Northern Lions Ladies prevailed with a 10–0 victory, combining grit, organization, and determination to secure the win.
