Later in the evening, the Men’s Handball Team also faced Burkina Faso after narrowly losing their opening match to Niger (34–35). Ghana trailed 11–12 at halftime but mounted a spirited comeback in the second half to clinch a 25–24 victory, sending waves of excitement through the Ghanaian camp.

Team captain Yaw Fyn expressed his joy after the match, describing the win as a result of unity, determination, and faith; “the euphoria and excitement are overwhelming because we came into this game as underdogs.

Everything was against us, the referees, match delegates, and supporters were all from Burkina Faso, so we knew we had only ourselves to trust. Everyone gave their maximum effort, and by God’s grace, we won. We’ll take it one game at a time. Every match is a final to us.”
