Cuba’s Robeisy Ramirez dominated Ghana’s Isaac Dogboe to win the vacant World Boxing Organization featherweight title by unanimous decision on Saturday.

Ramirez, gold medallist at the 2012 and 2016 Olympics, was always in control as he scored an emphatic victory at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

The 29-year-old Ramirez won by large margins on all three judges’ cards, with the scores coming in at 117-110, 118-109 and 119-108.

“I did everything I had to do as an Olympian, I won two Olympic gold medals — now I can call myself a world champion.”

The Britain-based Dogboe, who fell to 24-3 (16 by knockout), took exception to the scoring.

Despite the wide margins on all three cards that made the last round immaterial, Dogboe was incensed that a 12th round knockdown was not classified as a slip.

Robeisy Ramirez is a terrific fighter, but this result is bullshit,” Dogboe said. “It wasn’t a knockdown, it was a slip.

“If he’s a true champion, let’s run it back and have a rematch. He’s a great fighter but let’s have that rematch.”
