Villarreal have completed the signing of former Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey. Partey, 32, has signed a two year deal at the La Liga club, comprising of an initial one-year contract with the option of a further 12 months.
The Ghanaian midfielder has signed a two-year contract with the Yellow Submarine. In Spain, the move is stirring significant controversy due to the player’s ongoing legal issues.
As a reminder, Partey is awaiting trial for several alleged sexual assaults and one rape charge. He was released on bail to complete his transfer to Spain.
“Villarreal CF and Thomas Partey have reached an agreement for the Ghanaian footballer to join the Yellow team for the ongoing 2025-26 season. The player will join the squad starting tomorrow at the Sports City,” announced Villarreal.
