National Sports Authority Holds Stakeholders Engagement Ahead of Ghana Boxing Normalization

As part of the road map leading to the Ghana Boxing normalisation process, the National Sports Authority (NSA) continues to sensitize, engage and educate key arms of the boxing ecosystem.

The orientation of stakeholders within the Ghana boxing industry is critical to the alignment that is necessary for the implementation of impending reforms.

In line with the recommendations made by the committee set up by the Ministry of Sports and Recreation, the NSA organized the second of three stakeholder gathering at the Accra sports stadium of Friday 8th August .

All Ghana boxing stakeholders including amateur boxing representatives, sponsors/investors, promoters, trainers/coaches, matchmakers, management consultants and the media were invited to the orientation sessions. A draft five year development plan by the NSA was presented during presentation sessions by the Director General of the National Sports Authority, Mr Yaw Ampofo Ankrah and two other management consultants.

It is expected that stakeholders in the boxing fraternity will make an input in the draft proposal, so as to make it a working document for Ghana Boxing, in line with the recommendations made by the committee to ensure good governance accordingly.

The meeting ended successfully with stakeholders expected to submit a feedback on a questionnaire made available to them.
