Malicious Plot To Evict GTTF President Falls Flat As Stakeholders Deny Signing Any Such Petition

Industry players within the Ghana Table Tennis Federation (GTTF) have denied signing any petition to evict their president as claimed by a viral article on Ghanasportspage.com.

According to the said article, Federation president, Mr Mawuko Afadzino has been asked by key players to vacate his seat due to abuse of office and dictatorial leadership style.

A petition, with signatures of some stakeholders in the federation was attached to the said article to confirm the call for eviction of the supposed under pressure president.

1. Kwaku Frimpong Adjei : 2nd Vice President, ex Ashanti Region Chairman ( still parades illegally as Regional Chairman)

2. Samuel K Agyapong ( aka Akiola) agent provocateur.

3. Abraham Aidoo ( appointed as Interim Chairman in 2017 with a mandate to hold elections by end 2019). Organised only 2 competitions for active players in 6 years.

Fear of facing regional elections and inordinate ambitions spurring conspiracy.

A follow up investigation on the story however rubbished any such happenings within the Ghana Table Table Tennis Federation.

Members who spoke to this writer revealed that one of the leaders of the federation deceived them into providing their signatures for him in the name of seeking help from the National Sports Authority to fix the problems of the playing hall for them to use. The said member who to the shock of many of the Association members holds dual positions of regional Chairman at the same time second Vice President of the Association.

Lead advocated for the petitioners Samuel Agyapong who is known in table tennis circles as Akiola, lied to a member to sign a document telling him that he was standing for elections only to be used in a forged petition.
One of the signatories to the petition vehemently denied any endorsement of such kind and demanded an immediate retraction and apology since he did not consent the petition as an industry player and a key stakeholder.

Another signatory whose name appeared on the list descended on the perpetrators of this Ill cooked plot as he has no idea why his name should be added to such devilish acts.

When asked whether he will like his name to be used in an article for clarity, he responded, I don’t want to meddle myself into this whole election thing since I will end up working with any one who leads the federation but I am not in support of the removal of the current President.

With many of the supposed signatories denying knowledge of the petition, the question is what was the motive of mudding the image of the Federation boss? Was he legitimately elected? Has he abused the office and if yes isn’t there a system in place to check his tenure? Why has the second vice president who lied to one of the stakeholders still at post if he believes the tenure of office of the current executives has expired?

Retrogressing Sports: How you came about this is puzzling. There is no lesser known sports in Ghana currently that can compete with the progress choked by Mawuko’s administration. It’s a fact and you may have to do further digging with NSA.

Achievements by Mawuko is unending and all the past President’s achievements put together will not reach 70% of what he has achieved. If progress is DICTATORSHIP, then Mawuko is a DICTATOR.

Association: It’s the rationality and nature of humans to associate with likeminded. There’s no crime in that area, however, there’s an illusion there too. Investigate for facts.

Group of individuals attacking Mawuko’s personality and integrity to leave. Yes and it’s a fact. NOTE: Majority wishes Mawuko leads for the next 20years to bring the paradigm needed.

As much as possible, you may need to do much research next time you have an opportunity to publish an article on this game.

Another stakeholder said Mawuko Afadzinu has shot Ghana into International fame by being the first Ghanaian to be elected Board Member of the International Table Tennis Federation.

Another also said Mawuko has done well for bringing hosting the International Table Tennis Federation’s World Junior Championships in Ghana for the first time in 13 years and also hosting the ITTF West Africa Regional Championship.

Also Ghana has participated in two World Championships after a long absence.
