Veteran Ghanaian sports journalist and member from the office of the Sports Ministry, Mr. Kofi Asare Brako affectionately known as Abatey has called for the presence of the ex-captain of the Black Stars, Asamoah Gyan ‘Baby Jet’ into the senior national soccer team again.
According to Kofi Asare Brako Abatey, everything shows clearly that Ghana could have reached a better place in the previous AFCON held in Egypt if Asamoah Gyan was given the opportunity to start games.
Speaking to Dan Kwaku Yeboah on Peace Power Sports on Thursday afternoon he said, Ghana could have done better in the previous AFCON if Asamoah Gyan was given the opportunity to start games. During Ghana vs Cameroon, Asamoah Gyan changed everything because there was a fear in some of the Cameroon defenders and that fear was repeated during our game against Tunisia. Asamoah Gyan is the cause of that own goal equalizer for Ghana because the defender was scared of him whilst they were jumping.
“Asamoah Gyan deserves to be in the team again because Ghana could have done better if he was given the opportunity in the previous AFCON.” He ended.
