Midfield linchpin Justice Blay’s dream move to Asante Kotoko is almost done, according to the Public Relations Officer of Medeama SC.

In what will go down in Ghanaian football folklore as the most protracted transfer deal, Justice Blay’s long awaited move to Asante Kotoko is almost complete, much to the delight of the supporters of the Reds.

Blay featured for Asante Kotoko in the 2019-2020 annulled season on loan from Medeama, and the hardworking midfielder became an instant hit at the Kumasi-based giants and was billed to make his loan move permanent but the Porcupine Warriors failed to meet the asking price of the Mauves and Yellow.

The entrenched stance of both parties ensured Blay’s dream move never became a reality and played for his parent club, Medeama, last season until his unfortunate injury suffered against Legon Cities.

With the Porcupine Warriors completing an avalanche of signings, it appears the record holders of the Ghana Premier League are set to add Justice Blay to their growing roster.

Shedding more light on the deal, Patrick Akoto told Kumasi-based radio station Oyerepa FM:

“The transfer of Justice Blay to Asante Kotoko is almost done,”

“In principle, both parties have agreed but yet to put pen on paper. The only thing left now is something like the payment terms, whether to pay in full or tranches,” he ended.

Meanwhile the Porcupine Warriors are presently in Dubai preparing for the upcoming campaign with the club slating a preseason friendly game with Al Hilal United on October 14 in Sharjah.
