Ipswich Town Complete £20m Signing of Ghana’s Abdul Fatawu from Leicester City

Newly promoted Premier League side Ipswich Town have completed the signing of Ghana international Abdul Fatawu from Leicester City in a deal worth £20 million.

The 22-year-old winger attracted interest from several clubs following his impressive performances for both club and country, including representing Ghana at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

However, Ipswich won the race to secure the highly-rated attacker ahead of the new Premier League season.

Fatawu initially joined Leicester City on loan and enjoyed an outstanding campaign that convinced the Foxes to make the move permanent. After spending three years with the club, the pacey winger now begins a new chapter at Portman Road.

Speaking after completing the transfer, Fatawu expressed his excitement about the move.

“The ambition the club has is very exciting and I’m looking forward to being a part of that as we prepare for the Premier League season,” he said.

Ipswich will hope Fatawu’s pace, creativity, and attacking flair will strengthen their squad as they prepare for life back in the Premier League following their promotion. The Ghanaian is expected to play a key role in the club’s bid to establish themselves in the English top flight.
