GPL Wrap: Medeama Fall at Dawu, Nations Hold Asante Kotoko, as Bofoakwa maintain perfect start

Aduana FC, Dreams FC and Nsoatreman FC picked up vital home wins in their Matchday six betPawa Premier League games whiles Nations FC scored late to deny Asante Kotoko at the Dr. Kwame Kyei sports complex.

Aduana FC fell to Emmanuel Antwi’s 20th minute strike at Nana Agyeman Badu I Park but fought back to lead at half time.

Forward Isaac Mintah scored two goals to give his side a commanding lead before the break. Mintah equalized in the 37th minute and added the second inside 45 minutes to give Aduana FC a 2-1 lead.

Emmanuel Gyamfi put the nail in the coffin as he connected a lovely pass in the 98th minute to round up an eventful afternoon for the hosts.

At the Konamansah Park in Nsoatre, Nsoatreman FC recorded an impressive 2-0 win over Legon Cities. Maxwell Konadu was up against his former team for the first time since he moved to Nsoatre in the summer.

Abdul Manaf Umar continued his fine form with a 4th minute goal before Mohammed Abdul Rahaman added to the tally inside 69 minutes.

At Dawu – John Antwi and Ishmael Dede scored in either half as Dreams FC overcame Champions Medeama SC at the Theater of Dreams.

John Antwi opened the scoring in the 4th minute for Dreams FC following a strong start to the game. The Still Believe lads were very purposeful as they held on until the break.

Ishmael Dede netted the decisive goal in the 88th minute to give his side a two goal lead before substitute David Boison Frimpong reduced the deficit for the champions.

Elsewhere at Bechem – Bechem United left it late to beat Berekum Chelsea 2-0 at Fosu Gyeabuor Park.

Two second half goals from Augustine Okrah and Cephas Mantey was enough to take the pressure off coach Bismark Kobby Mensah momentarily.

There was drama at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports complex at Abrankese where Nations FC scored on the death to secure a point against Asante Kotoko in a 2-2 draw.

After a barren first half, Nations FC were off to a flying start to the second half as Amidou Diarra took advantage of a sloppy ball in the Kotoko area to slot home the opener.

Asante Kotoko piled the pressure and equalized through Kalo Ouattara in the 88th minute. The former Berekum Chelsea man slotted home from a rebound following Augustine Agyapong’s free kick off the edge of the box.

The Porcupine Warriors extended their lead in the 92nd minute through Kyei Dwamena Michael but Nations FC rallied back for the equalizer with a late penalty.

Amidou Diarra sent Danlad Ibrahim the wrong way to sent them home fans into a frenzy as the game ended 2-2 at Abrankese.

Finally in Tamale – Bofoakwa Tano maintained their unbeaten streak with a goalless draw against Karela United at the Aliu Mahama stadium.
