Ghana’s Sports Minister meet Hudson-Odoi over ‘possible’ nationality switch

English-born of Ghanaian descent Callum Hudson Odoi has met with the Minister for Youth and Sports, Mustapha Ussif and the Ghana Football Association president, Kurt Okraku over a possible nationality switch.

On Monday, the Chelsea forward paid a courtesy call to the President of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo at the Flagstaff House.

Nana Akufo-Addo urged the Minister for Youth and Sports, Mustapha Yusif to explore the possibility of having Hudson-Odoi switch nationality and play for the Black Stars.

The 20-year-old has been a long-term target of the Ghana Football Association to consider a nationality switch despite capping three times for England at the senior level.

He was born to Ghanaian parents in London, his dad Bismark Odoi featured for Ghana Premier League giants Hearts of Oak in the early nineties.
The Champions League winner is still eligible to feature for the Black Stars of Ghana per the new FIFA eligibility rules for playing below age 21.
