Ghana’s Samira Mensah, Rachel Ankomah and Matilda Clottey Selected for World Rugby Women in Rugby Careers Programme
The Ghana Rugby Football Union (GRFU) has announced that Samira Mensah, Rachel Ankomah, and Matilda Clottey have been selected to participate in the prestigious World Rugby Women in Rugby Careers Programme.
Their selection highlights Ghana’s growing influence in rugby leadership and recognizes their outstanding contributions to sports administration, communication, and grassroots rugby development across the country.
Through the programme, the three representatives will join a global network of female rugby leaders, participating in a series of professional development sessions focused on leadership, communication, and career advancement within the sport.
Their inclusion marks another significant milestone in expanding opportunities for women in rugby in Ghana, while strengthening the nation’s presence in the international rugby community.
The Women in Rugby Careers Programme builds on the success of its 2025 pilot initiative, which was launched under the Impact Beyond 2025 legacy programme. Since its introduction, the initiative has supported over 100 women from 56 countries, equipping them with the skills and knowledge needed to progress in various areas of the sport.
The evolved programme will continue to provide targeted career development, professional skills training, and global networking opportunities, helping women who work or volunteer in rugby to enhance their career pathways both on and off the field.
Participants will also take part in seven interactive virtual webinars scheduled between April and November 2026, each designed to build confidence, leadership capacity, and practical career skills.
The programme offers a supportive learning environment, access to global rugby experts, and valuable peer-to-peer engagement across the international rugby community.
