Ghana Table Tennis Association set for final Phase of Trials Ahead of African Games

As part of the selection process for the African Games, the Ghana Table Tennis Association, GTTA, is set to hold its final trials.

The association previously held its keenly contested 1st and 2nd trials respectively to select players for the final selection phase.

A total of 16 players (8 male and 8 female) have officially been selected to undergo the final selection phase.

The male players include James Marfo, Samuel Akayede, Israel Aklie, Michael Yeboah, Isaac Davies, Bernard Joe Sam, Ernest Mawutor and Ishmael Addy.

Whiles Hilda Agbottah, Frema Cecelia, Cynthia Kwabi, Celia Baah Danso, Eva Adom Amankwa, Blessing Labanti, Bernice Borley Borquaye and Joanita Borteye making up the female list.

The final phase comes off on Saturday and Sunday, Feb 10th and 11th, respectively at the Hathiramani Sports hall at 9am prompt.

The technical director, Mr. Charles Tachie-Menson in a statement disclosed that 5 female and 5 male players after the final phase will move into residential camping by Tuesday, the 13th of February, 2024.

He mentioned that the team would be joined by current national star Felix Lartey and Emmanuel Commey to ignite competition and passion.

Mr Charles Tachie-Menson also expressed gratitude to all stakeholders involved in the African games building process.

Our journey to build a solid team for the 13th African Games and beyond continues into the next phase.

“Huge compliments to all players, together with their coaches and clubs, for making the initial phases of the team building process a success.” He said.

The 13th African Games has been slated for 8th to 23rd March, 2024.

Table tennis competitions spins off from 3rd to 9th March at the Gamashie Hall, Trust sports emporium.
