GFA License “D” Coaching Course ends in Tamale

The Ghana Football Association’s Coaching License “D” program designed for Grassroot Coaches successfully ended in Tamale, the Northern Regional Capital.

In all, 62 Coaches drawn from almost all districts in the region benefited from this 16 day intensive exercise.

The course participants were divided into 2 batches of 30 and 32 respectively to ensure effective Instructor/participant interaction.

The course content involved Theory and Practicals as well as First Aid and CPR.

Giving a brief Overview Of the program, the Director Of Coaching Education Of the GFA, Professor Mintah advised graduands to embrace the new concepts they have learnt and ensure that they implement same during their training sessions in the communities.

Addressing participants at the closing ceremony, the Special Guests Mr. Abdul -Rahman Gaddo, the Risk Manager of National Investment Bank I/c of the Northern Zone and Hajia Sala, the Northern Regional Sports Development Officer both took turns to advise the new grassroot Coaches to attach seriousness to their jobs in the Districts and villages so as to positively impact the kids they will be grooming.

On his part, the Chairman of the Northern Regional Football Association, Alhaji Abu Hassan Rhyzo commended Professor Mintah and his team of Instructors for a yeoman’s job. He was equally grateful to the Kurt Okraku’s administration for recognizing the knowledge gap as far as Grassroot Coaching is concern and rolling out this program.

Alhaji Rhyzo reiterated the fact that the Northern Regional Football Association has had to take up part of the cost of training to ensure that the program came off successfully.

He therefore stated that the only way graduands can show appreciation for this gesture is to go out there and groom the kids in the communities with their newly acquired skills.
He emphasized that a team of Instructors will be moving round to monitor and evaluate their performance periodically.

He urged graduands not to hesitate to approach the RFA anytime they were encountering difficulties in the course of their work.
