Cheetah FC Appoints Emmanuel Yaw Agyaba Donkor as New Head Coach to Lead Club’s New Era

Ambitious Central Region Division Two League side, Cheetah FC, has announced the appointment of Emmanuel Yaw Agyaba Donkor as the club’s new head coach.

The announcement follows a renewed vision aimed at restoring the club to its former glory days while continuing to develop some of Ghana’s brightest football talents.

Donkor joins the Kasoa-based outfit with an impressive coaching background and a strong reputation for youth development. He is a graduate of the University of Cape Coast with a degree in Basic Education and holds a Ghana Football Association (GFA) Coaching License D.

He has also earned an England FA Talent Identification Certificate and a FIFA Safeguarding Certificate, equipping him with modern coaching expertise and a strong understanding of player welfare.

His coaching journey has seen him work with several respected football institutions, including True Life Football Academy, the Greater Accra Regional Football Association as a Development Coach, Dasys Sporting Club, Arsenal Babies FC, El-Wonder Ladies and Kenpong Football Academy, where he served as Head of Talent Identification.

Known for his emphasis on technical excellence, tactical discipline, defensive organisation and positional awareness, Donkor is expected to bring a fresh approach that aligns perfectly with Cheetah FC’s long-term football philosophy.

Speaking on the appointment, club President and Founder Abdul-Hayye Yartey explained that Donkor’s arrival forms part of the club’s new strategic direction.

According to Yartey, the appointment is geared towards rebranding and restructuring Cheetah FC as the club seeks to return to its past glory while maintaining its reputation as one of Ghana’s leading football development institutions.

He believes Donkor’s youthful energy, modern coaching ideas and ability to work with young players make him the ideal coach to fit into the club’s chemistry and long-term vision.

Owned by renowned football administrator and businessman Abdul-Hayye Yartey, Cheetah FC have built an enviable reputation as one of Ghana’s foremost talent factories. Competing in the Central Region Division Two League, the club has consistently produced players who have progressed to the Access Bank Division One League, national teams and professional clubs across Europe and beyond.

Over the years, the club has played a significant role in the development of several notable Ghanaian footballers, including the late Christian Atsu, Alhassan Wakaso, Mohammed Iddrisu, Emmanuel Toku, Ebenezer Adade, and current Black Stars midfielder Kwasi Sibo, among many others.
