Her previous record was 6.37m

Nigeria’s Ese Brume gets the gold after she makes 7m! This is huge, because very few athletes have jumped past 7, and the women’s world record is currently 7.52m, set in 1988.

Only arrived in Birmingham on Friday midnight, and went straight to the qualifiers. Two days later, she’s picked up a medal.

Less than ideal preparations, but here she is!.

That’s now 5 medals for Ghana with one day to the end of the games – 2 silver, 3 bronze.

Boxing came through with 3 (2 silver, 1 bronze) and athletics with 2 bronze. #CWG2022
