Ghana’s Black Stars have appointed an interim technical team for their November fixture against Somalia, following a recommendation by the Black Stars Coach Search Committee.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA), in consultation with the Ministry of Sports and Recreation, has accepted the committee’s recommendation after an extensive review process and consultations with several qualified coaching candidates.
The committee said the decision was aimed at ensuring continuity, experienced leadership and strategic direction as the Black Stars navigate an important period of transition and renewal.
Kim Lars Björkegren will lead the interim technical team, working alongside Ibrahim Tanko and Godwin Attram as assistant coaches. Former Ghana goalkeeper Fatawu Dauda has been appointed goalkeepers’ coach.

According to the joint statement, the appointments bring together international experience, local knowledge, technical expertise and a strong understanding of Ghanaian football.
The three institutions believe the combination will provide the leadership and support needed to prepare the national team effectively for the upcoming international assignment.
Additional technical and support staff will also be appointed to ensure the team is adequately equipped for the November international window.
The interim arrangement will apply specifically to the November fixtures, while the Black Stars Coach Search Committee continues its work towards appointing a substantive head coach.
The GFA, the Ministry of Sports and Recreation and the committee have also reaffirmed their commitment to providing the Black Stars and the Black Queens with the technical and operational support needed to achieve their respective objectives during the upcoming international period.
The three institutions have called on Ghanaians to rally behind the Black Stars and support the players and technical team as they prepare to represent the country.
