The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is set to release the first tranche of its annual GH¢120,000 financial support package to all 48 clubs participating in the Universal Merchant Bank (UMB) Division One League on Monday, November 2, 2026.
The disbursement forms part of the GFA’s commitment to improving the financial stability of Division One clubs and easing the operational challenges associated with running football clubs throughout the season.
The initiative is being made possible through the Football Association’s sponsorship partnership with Universal Merchant Bank (UMB), which continues to support efforts aimed at strengthening club football in the country.
The annual financial package is designed to provide participating clubs with some financial relief, enabling them to meet essential expenses, manage their administrative responsibilities and improve their day-to-day operations.
Beyond the direct financial assistance, the GFA will also continue to absorb the costs of referees, match commissioners, venue media officers and cameramen for Division One League matches.
The additional support is intended to reduce the financial burden on clubs while helping to improve the organisation, administration and delivery of the competition.
With 48 clubs competing across the Division One League, the financial intervention represents part of the GFA’s broader efforts to support grassroots and lower-tier football development and strengthen the structures of the domestic game.
The first tranche is expected to provide participating clubs with additional resources as they continue their respective campaigns in the 2026/27 season.
