Team Ghana’s swimming contingent has safely arrived in Glasgow, Scotland, ahead of the 2026 Commonwealth Games, with the athletes already settling in and intensifying preparations for the prestigious multi-sport event.
The four-member squad is made up of Unilez Takyi, Nubia Adjei, Abeku Jackson, Ivan Snowden, and Promise Wonder Astu Ahteto – Para Swimmer who will proudly represent Ghana in the swimming competition.
Leading the team is Coach Obedeka Adjei, while Farida A. Iddriss and Delphina Quaye are serving as Team Leaders, ensuring the athletes are well-supported both on and off the pool deck.
Following their arrival, the swimmers wasted no time in getting back into action, taking part in an intense training session under the guidance of Coach Adjei as they fine-tune their preparations ahead of competition.

Swimming events at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games are scheduled to take place from July 24 to July 29 at the Tollcross International Swimming Centre, with Ghana hoping to make a strong impression against some of the Commonwealth’s finest swimmers.
Among the squad, Abeku Jackson brings valuable international experience, having represented Ghana at previous Commonwealth Games, World Championships, and the Olympic Games. He is expected to play a key role in Ghana’s campaign alongside the promising trio of Unilez Takyi, Nubia Adjei, and Ivan Snowden.
The swimming team forms part of Team Ghana’s 40-athlete delegation competing across several sports at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, as the nation aims to deliver impressive performances and challenge for honours on the international stage.
With final preparations underway, Ghana’s swimmers are focused, determined, and eager to make the nation proud when they dive into action in Glasgow.
