Bruno Fernandes has been crowned the Football Writers’ Association Men’s Footballer of the Year after an outstanding campaign for Manchester United.
The Portuguese midfielder secured a commanding 45 percent of the votes from football writers, finishing ahead of Declan Rice in second place and Erling Haaland in third.
Fernandes becomes the first Manchester United player to win the prestigious award since Wayne Rooney, ending a long wait for the club in one of English football’s most respected individual honours.
