Ghana Athletics Association Responds To Brouhaha Surrounding Ansah Sarfo’s Qualification To Olympic Games

Ghana Athletics Association (GAA) has released a statement in relation to the hullabaloo surrounding Speedster Ansah Sarfo’s qualification to Tokyo Olympic Games which will be staged in Tokyo, Japan.

Ansah Sarfo, an alumnus of Jachie Pramso Senior High School (Mighty Japass) posted an amazing time of 10.14 seconds in GNPC Ghana’s Fastest Human Competition staged at the Paa Joe Sports Stadium, KNUST, Kumasi on Saturday May 15, 2021.

His surreal performance saw lovers of athletics and the wider sports craze Ghanaian population eulogizing the young speedster for his qualification to the Tokyo Olympic Games – a situation which has divided opinions on the legitimacy of his qualification.

However, in a bide to bring clarity to the status of Ansah Sarfo, the Ghana Athletic Association stated in a press release the Ghanaian athlete missed the qualification time by a whisker – 10.05 seconds.

The GAA commended the athlete for his performance and also assured Ghanaians their outfit are engaging the technical team and World Athletics to ratify the results posted by Sarfo.
