GWPL- Match Report: Berry Ladies 3-2 Immigration Ladies- Eugenia Tetteh’s Double Enough For Berry Ladies To Get First Win
Berry Ladies beat immigration Ladies 3-2 in their week one fixture of the National Women’s Premier League at the Madina Astro Turf on January 26, 2021.
Two goals from Eugenia Tetteh and Nina Norshie were enough to give Coach Mercy Tagoe side all the three points.
The game began very brightly with both teams creating a lot of chances early on in the game.
Berry Ladies struck the first blood of the game as defender Nina Norshie placed a beautiful shot in the top right corner of the Immigration post to give the home side the lead on the 10 minute of the game.
After the goal, Immigration Ladies became alarmed with striker Mary Neequaye Piling pressure on the defense of the home but most of her shots went straight into the hands of Black Queens goalkeeper Abigail Mensah.
Berry Ladies almost had their second goal in the 40th Minute after some team play but the ball went just metres of the post.
Immigration Ladies fought back fiercely hoping to draw parity but their efforts did not yield the needed results in the first department of the game as the home team lead 1-0.
After the recess, Immigration Ladies responded quickly through Francisca Asabea strike in the 55th minute to make the score 1-1.
Eugenia Tetteh registered her name on the scoresheets on the 66th minute of the game to give the home side 2-1 lead.
Immigration Ladies again level on the 85th minute through Ramanatu Tahiru beautiful strike.
At this stage, the game looked like it was heading towards a 2-2 draw. Berry Ladies had two great opportunities in the space of two minutes, Berry Ladies created some decent chance with some interlinked passes only to meet forest of legs in the attacking third of the opposing half.
The inspired attacker Eugenia Tetteh double the lead for Berry Ladies on 87 Minutes.
The game ended 3-2 for Berry Ladies to reflect the true proceeding on the pitch.
