Former Asante Kotoko striker, Abdul Fatawu Safiu, is set to make a sensational return to the club, sparking anticipation among fans ahead of the January transfer window.

The 29-year-old, currently unattached after parting ways with Iraqi side Al-Sinaa SC in June 2023, is reportedly in advanced talks with Kotoko’s leadership about rejoining the Porcupines.

Sources indicate that Safiu, who is enjoying holidays in Maldives, plans to return to Ghana next week for face-to-face discussions with the Kotoko Interim Management Committee (IMC). During his earlier stint with Kotoko, Safiu showcased his goal-scoring prowess, contributing three goals and two assists in the 2018/2019 CAF Confederation Cup.
