On 18th May, 2011, which is exactly 12 years today, Berekum Chelsea wrapped up the 2010/2011 Glo Premier League title with three matches to spare.

The Berekum lads became the second Brong Ahafo side to win the Ghanaian topflight league after Aduana Stars had won it in the 2009/2010 season.

A late penalty from Emmanuel Clottey, the league’ s top scorer, handed Berekum Chelsea a 1-0 win over Real Tamale United.

The win gave them an unassailable lead over Asante Kotoko at the top of the table with three games left.

With nine points at stake in the last three matches, the outcome of those matches will have no impact at the summit of the standings.
