Congratulating the players, Kwabena Yeboah said: “You made us proud with the little support you receive; you put smiles on our faces.”

Drawing on his experience with the Ghana Table Tennis Association, he acknowledged the challenges faced by less-funded sports and praised the players for winning medals at both continental and global levels.

“You deserved all the recognition. We as sports journalists have a duty and responsibility to tell your story,” he added.

Kwabena Yeboah also commended the team’s discipline, commitment and dedication, urging the players to maintain those values.

“The little I have seen from you guys, I see a lot of discipline, I see a lot of commitment and dedication, and I encourage you to continue to be disciplined. This sport will always open doors for you guys, so keep it up,” he said.

At the African U-19 Championships in Cairo, Ghana won silver in women’s doubles through Moslena Ama Korama Adu and Racheal Quarcoo, alongside bronze medals in the mixed team relay and mixed doubles, with the team’s individual performances also contributing to its medal tally.

The Ghana squad comprised Francis Obeng-Shang, Obabompa Adu-Mintah, Samuel Kotey Amasah, Racheal Quarcoo, Moslena Ama Korama Adu, Margaret Amioko Sarpei and Alana Faith Sullo.
