Spanish giants Sevilla FC have reached an agreement to sign highly-rated 18-year-old Ghanaian winger Emmanuel Abrokwa from Adabraka Elders FC, marking a historic milestone for both the player and Ghanaian football.
The exciting youngster has agreed to a contract that will keep him at the La Liga club until 2029, becoming the first Ghanaian footballer to sign directly for Sevilla from a club based in Ghana. The move is seen as another major breakthrough for Ghana’s growing reputation for producing elite football talent.
Abrokwa has been widely regarded as one of the country’s brightest emerging prospects. The pacey winger has impressed scouts with his explosive speed, close control, creativity in one-on-one situations, and ability to play on either flank. His performances for Adabraka Elders earned him recognition as one of the standout young talents in Ghana’s grassroots football system.
Although only 18, Abrokwa has already attracted attention beyond Ghana through his impressive development and has represented Ghana at youth international level, further highlighting his immense potential.
His transfer is also a significant achievement for Adabraka Elders, a club that has steadily built a reputation for nurturing young talents. The Accra-based side has enjoyed remarkable progress in recent years, earning promotion through the local football ranks while focusing on player development.
The deal was facilitated by player representatives Daniel Boifio Junior and Jorge Garcia of SBE Management, who successfully negotiated the long-term agreement with the Spanish club.
Abrokwa is expected to continue his development within Sevilla’s football structure as he adapts to European football, with hopes of eventually breaking into the club’s first team.
His move represents another important step for Ghanaian football, providing inspiration for young players across the country that talent developed locally can earn opportunities at some of Europe’s biggest clubs.
