The National Sports Authority (NSA) brought together staff, management, and members of the Muslim community for a special Iftar gathering at the Accra Sports Stadium, as the holy month of Ramadan approaches its climax.
The evening was marked by a spirit of unity, reflection, and togetherness, with attendees from different backgrounds and faiths sharing in the moment ahead of the breaking of the fast.
At the heart of the gathering was a message of harmony and national cohesion.
Director-General Yaw Ampofo-Ankrah highlighted the importance of coming together, especially in challenging times, using the occasion to encourage deeper understanding and mutual respect.

“We are all gathered here today from different backgrounds and even different faiths to show solidarity, mutual respect and unity at a time we face difficult challenges. It is important that we do not abandon our faith especially in testing times”
The symbolic sitting before Iftar created a calm and reflective atmosphere, allowing participants to engage, connect, and share in a collective moment of faith and community.
Beyond the meal, the event served as a platform to strengthen relationships within the sports ecosystem, reinforcing the NSA’s commitment to inclusivity and peaceful coexistence.

Management of the Authority also commended the Muslim faithful for their discipline and dedication throughout Ramadan, noting that the same spirit of devotion and reflection will soon be mirrored during the Easter celebrations.
The gathering stood as a reminder that sport, like faith, has the power to unite people, bridge differences, and build lasting bonds across communities.
