The National Sports Authority (NSA) has denied rumors that the GTBank Music Concert, scheduled for December 19, 2025, at the Accra Sports Stadium, will be hosted for free.
According to them the NSA has not secured a contract with GTBank for a free show.
“GTBank Music Concert that they are advertising free. It’s misinformation. It’s misinformation because in their contract, they requested for the venue for their clients, their partners and selected friends that, they will invite” So the NSA takes a strong exception that, they will realse a statement tomorrow.
The NSA is collaborating with security agencies to put in place necessary safety protocols, especially considering the large crowd that events like these attract.
The NSA cited concerns over the potential for chaos, referencing Shatta Wale’s birthday celebration, which saw a massive turnout and subsequent challenges including gridlock traffic, random robberies and snatching of mobile phones and some recorded cases of minor injuries due to the huge gathering of youth.
The NSA is working with security agencies, including the National Fire Service, National Security, the Ghana Police, and the office of the IGP, to ensure a safe and incident-free event.
The authority is also looking into augmenting the number of stewards trained for football matches to support the event.
Additionally, the NSA is expecting pitch protectors to be provided to safeguard the Accra Sports Stadium’s pitch, and if they are not forthcoming, the event will not compromise the pitch’s integrity.
The GTBank Music Concert promises to be a star-studded event, featuring top artistes from Ghana and Nigeria, including Shatta Wale, Sarkodie, Ayra Starr, Patoranking, and Joeboy.
