Ghana’s rising table tennis sensation, Israel Aklie, secured a bronze medal in the U-15 Boys’ Singles event at the ITTF Africa Youth Cup after bowing out in the semi-finals at the Borteyman Sports Complex in Accra.
Aklie suffered a 3-0 defeat to a strong Egyptian opponent in a spirited semi-final encounter, bringing an end to another impressive campaign on home soil. Despite the loss, the young Ghanaian displayed determination and resilience throughout the tournament, earning a place among Africa’s top four U-15 players.
The bronze medal adds another significant achievement to Aklie’s growing career, coming just days after he was crowned the ITTF Africa Hopes Champion.
