Hearts of Oak Marksman Daniel Afriyie Barnieh completes move to Swiss Giants FC Zurich

Black Stars forward Daniel Afriyie Barnieh has completed his move from Ghanaian giants Hearts of Oak to FC Zurich in Switzerland. The 21-year-old signed a three-year deal to join the Swiss topflight side in the winter transfer window.

The World Cup squad member is currently with the Black Galaxies team in Algeria and will join his new club after the Championship of African Nations, a tournament reserved for players plying their trades in the domestic leagues.

The 21-year-old striker Daniel Afriyie is transferring from the Ghanaian first division club Hearts of Oak to FCZ with immediate effect and has signed a contract until the summer of 2026. The parties have agreed not to disclose the details of the transfer,” wrote the club.

 

Afriyie Barnieh won the Ghana Premier League and two FA Cup with Hearts of Oak in his three-year stay at the club. He scored 13 goals in 69 appearances. Head of sports at FC Zurich, Marinko Jurendic is delighted with the signing of the Ghana international. “Daniel Afriyie is a dynamic and versatile attacking player who has a courageous style of play. He should take the next step in development at FCZ and give our game further opportunities forward,” he said.

Afriyie Barnieh played for Galaxy United and Rahimo FC in the past.
