The Advantage All TENNIS Women’s Empowerment (AATWE) TOURNEY took center stage at the Accra Lawn Tennis Club courts on the 2025 International Women’s Day, courtesy of the Confederation of African Tennis Advantage All committee executive and GTF board member, Hajia Zenabu Sulemana.
The event was a groundbreaking initiative aimed at empowering women in sports through coaching, officiating, administration, and other essential modules.

The tourney attracted some high-profile dignitaries, including the Vice President of the Ghana Tennis Federation (GTF) Mr Cedric Dzelu, the GTF Secretary Mr Yao Boni, and the former Northern Regional Sports Development Director, Ms Salamatu Alhassan. Their presence underscored the importance of women’s empowerment in sports and lent credibility to the event.
Through the AATWE Tourney, Hajia Zenabu Sulemana demonstrated her commitment to creating opportunities for women in sports to develop their skills, build their confidence, and take on leadership roles. The event was a resounding success, with both able and wheelchair tennis players praising the organizers for providing a platform that combined sports competition with empowerment and skill-building.
The AATWE Tourney is poised to become a flagship event in Ghana’s sports calendar, promoting women’s empowerment and inspiring a new generation of female sports leaders.
