Ghanaian William Amponsah wins Silver in Half Marathon at African Games

In the early morning on Friday, 22nd March, 2024, at the African Games Accra 2023, William Amponsah, who set a National Record in the Men’s 10000m when he placed 5th, went a step better by finishing 2nd in the Half Marathon.

The Ghanaian clocked a time of 1hr 05 mins 13 seconds behind Eritrean’s Hailemicael Samsom Amare who clocked a time of 1hr 05 mins 04 seconds to win Gold.

This is the first time in African Games Ghana have won a medal bringing Ghana’s total haul of medals at the African Games 2023 to 11 Gold medals. 24 Silver medals and 16 Bronze medals.

The African Games 2023 is billed to end on Saturday, 23rd March, 2024.
