Nations FC have suffered relegation from the 2025-26 Ghana Premier League after finishing the season with 44 points, bringing an end to their short stay in Ghana’s top-flight division.
The club, who made their Premier League debut in the 2023-24 season, lasted just three seasons in the elite competition before dropping to the lower division. Their relegation marks a disappointing campaign for the ambitious side, who struggled to maintain consistency throughout the season despite showing flashes of quality.
Nations FC entered the season with hopes of establishing themselves as a competitive force in the league, but crucial dropped points during the campaign eventually proved costly. The club battled until the final stages of the season but were unable to secure enough results to preserve their Premier League status.
Despite the heartbreak of relegation, Nations FC still have an opportunity to end the season on a positive note. The club will face Dreams FC in the final of the 2025-26 MTN FA Cup on May 31 at the University of Ghana Stadium.
Winning the FA Cup would provide a major consolation for Nations FC and could offer the club a memorable ending to an otherwise difficult season. The final also presents a chance for the players and technical team to restore pride and give their supporters something to celebrate after the disappointment of relegation.
Dreams FC, however, will also be determined to finish the season with silverware, setting up what is expected to be an exciting FA Cup final in Accra.
For Nations FC, the focus will now shift to ending the campaign strongly before beginning preparations for life outside the Ghana Premier League next season.
