Ghana Blind Sports Federation Extends Best Wishes to Secretary General David Tweneboah Koduah Ahead of IBSA Goalball Referees Clinic in Lithuania

The Ghana Blind Sports Federation (GBSF) proudly extends its full support and best wishes to its Secretary General, Mr. David Tweneboah Koduah, as he participates in the ongoing International Blind Sports Federation (IBSA) Goalball Referees Clinic in Trakai, Lithuania, from 16th to 24th March 2026.

Mr. Koduah, who is also a Senior University Sports Coach at the University of Cape Coast (UCC) and Head of Para Sports at the institution, continues to distinguish himself as a leading figure in the development of goalball and para-sports in Ghana. His role within the Federation has been instrumental in advancing the sport, strengthening administrative structures, and promoting international engagement.

In a statement issued on behalf of the Federation, the President of the Ghana Blind Sports Federation commended Mr. Koduah for his unwavering dedication and commitment to excellence in officiating and sports development.

The President noted that Mr. Koduah’s participation in the IBSA Referees Clinic represents not only a personal professional milestone but also a significant opportunity for Ghana to maintain a strong presence in international goalball officiating.

He expressed confidence that Mr. Koduah will successfully regain his Level 2 IBSA Goalball Referee certification, having previously demonstrated his competence at the highest level, including his appointment as an International Technical Official at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.

The President further highlighted that Mr. Koduah’s assignment to officiate in an international goalball tournament in Lithuania during his stay will provide him with the necessary match exposure to enhance his officiating portfolio and contribute meaningfully to the growth of the sport upon his return.

“On behalf of the Ghana Blind Sports Federation, I extend our heartfelt best wishes to Mr. David Tweneboah Koduah. We are confident that his participation in this important international programme will be successful and will further elevate Ghana’s reputation in global goalball officiating. We wish him the very best in both the clinic and the international tournament,” the President stated.

The Federation also acknowledged and appreciated the University of Cape Coast for fully sponsoring Mr. Koduah’s participation, describing the gesture as a significant contribution to the development of para-sports and technical officiating capacity in Ghana.

Mr. Koduah’s continued pursuit of excellence exemplifies the Federation’s broader vision of empowering athletes and technical officials to compete and excel on the international stage.

The Ghana Blind Sports Federation wishes its Secretary General a successful training programme, outstanding performance in the international tournament, and a safe return to Ghana.
