Cameroon have etched their name into African women’s football history, with the Indomitable Lionesses crowned champions of Africa for the first time after a commanding 3–0 victory over Malawi in the final of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
The historic triumph was secured on Sunday, August 16, 2026, at the Moulay El Hassan Stadium in Rabat, Morocco, as Cameroon delivered a powerful performance to finally end decades of near misses and heartbreak on the continental stage.
Marie Gisele Ngah Manga set the tone for Cameroon with the opening goal before Naomi Eto doubled the advantage in the 30th minute. Ngah Manga then completed her memorable night by adding another goal to seal a comprehensive victory for the Lionesses.
